Small Business Loans and Difference between Small Business Loans and Business Cash Advances

Starting your own small can be very rewarding due to the challenges and freedom of being your own boss.  As a small business owner, there will be many options for support to help you along the way.

Small business loans are one way to fund the start up of your business. The SBA (Small Business Administration) is operated by the government as a way to encourage and broaden the strength of small businesses.  The SBA can help bring your dream of starting a small business to reality in today’s challenging market by acting as a guarantor for low-interest, long and short-term loans.

Most small business owners use personal assets, high-interest credit advances, and help from family, friends, and business associates to fund their start up.  SBA loans can eliminate the danger of collecting high-interest debt on your personal accounts by making it easier to gain the capital necessary for running your business.  The SBA makes small business loans work for your company by acting as a guarantor that supports your needs.

The SBA can work with your preferred lender and you to help you get a loan for your small business.  Community support organizations, commercial banks, and micro lending are to help you obtain small business loans with the SBA as a guarantor.

The SBA small business loan programs set lending standards to match the financial needs of your small business.  Your lender distributes the loan according to these standards.  A commercial business loan might be impossible to back with your intitial capital investment. SBA programs provides the credit needed to make sure your business venture is successful.

The SBA has many different loan programs to help meet your small business needs.  The main program that small businesses use to gain access to loans is the basic 7(a).  Basic 7(a) rules let you use the funds for investing into your business to obtain land, cover building expenses, buy equipment and machinery, to spend as capital, and to sometimes allow you to continue running your business for eventual profit by cushioning accrued debt.  Repayment plans can stretch up to 25 years depending on your  spending needs.

If your loan needs are more specific, a different version of the basic 7(a) can be fitted to match your small business expenses.  Some examples are to give your existing small business the needed funds to purchase real estate and to expand or improve.

SBA’s 7(m) program, which are micro loans, enable you to obtain short-term small business loans in smaller amounts, up to ,000.  The 7(m) can be used for buying supplies and equipment for your small business, as well as for immediate cash-flow needs.  Micro loans enable your lender to help you produce and manage your financial goals and plans.

Difference Between Small Business Loans And Merchant Cash Advance:
This type of loan is different from a small business loans due to the fact to get money for the loan you have to pay it back based on your potential credit card sales. It is said by some that “A merchant advance is ideal for small and mid-size businesses” I could not disagree more, I don’t know a more toxic loan that a small business could get. Though this option is better than trying to deal with a venture capitalist. A Merchant Cash Advance is easy for most companies because most small business take credit cards.

Unsecured small business loans come in severl forms. To know the difference between merchant cash advance and small business loan click on the hyperlinks provided.

Knowing the difference between government loans and grants

There are now a number of financial aid programs being put up by the government to help people deal with the hard times. Like in other large countries, Canada also has its own programs, and this where Canadian government grants and government loans come in. While there are people who are more knowledgeable about anything that have to do with a loan, there are others who would rather apply for a grant than continue piling up on their debts.

This is because there are certain advantages that are tied up with grants that spell a large difference when they are compared with a loan. This is regardless if the loan was provided by a bank or by the government.

Government loans are just like any typical loan that you can get from private financial institutions. With this kind of loan though, it is not the government that hands out the money.

Instead, they act as backers of the business owners who are applying for loans with credit companies. As such, there would still be monthly payments to attend to and interest rates to consider unlike with the Canadian government grants. Generally though, the payment terms for this type of loan are friendlier and the interest rates are definitely lower if you will go for this. To apply for this loan, a lot of paperwork needs to be accomplished and submitted to an underwriting of business and personal accounts that you may have.

Canadian government grants, on the other hand, can be easily availed of if you have an idea of what you need and you could meet the criteria needed for it. While there are grants for business purposes, there are also other types of grants as well that could be used for personal needs like home renovations and payment of school fees. All you need to do in applying for a grant is to write a grant proposal that outlines your project details. The good thing about grants is that, unlike loans, poor credit does not have anything to with their approval.

So if you do not have good credit score, then getting a grant is better if you need an amount of money. There is also no need to pay off grants as long as criteria have been set.

If you need an amount of money, either for business or personal needs, and you are weighing the differences between Canadian government grants and government loans, then you already know what they are. It is already up to you to decide which of the two you would like to apply for. You could go for the loan, which you have to repay or you could go for the grant that has a set of stringent criteria. You could opt for the grant that has more restrictions in the use of the money provided or for the loan, which you could freely spend as you wish. Ultimately, the decision is really yours. Just think that regardless which of the two you choose, you will still be getting what you want: and that is financial aid to answer your needs.

Have you been trying to decide between applying for loans or Canadian government grants ? Look into our site and gather some information to help you make up your mind.

The Difference between Secured vs Unsecured Business Credit Cards

Having a poor personal credit can be a major disadvantage when trying to start a business.  Since you can’t qualify for business credit cards that require good or excellent credit, you are left with two options.  You can either apply for a secured business credit card or look for an unsecured business credit card that accepts average credit.  Needless to say, both of these options involve higher costs than business credit cards that are reserved for people with good credit.

Still this doesn’t mean you can’t find a reasonable deal.  If you do careful research, you should be able to find a credit card company that offers bad credit credit cards for small businesses with reasonable fees and terms.  Now, which is a better option for you- a secured business credit card or an unsecured business credit card?  The answer of course, may depend on your situation.

The Difference Between a Secured and an Unsecured Credit Card

A secured credit card basically requires a security deposit in your account.  This fund will be used only if you failed to keep up with your credit card payments.  This way, your credit card company is assured that in case you default from your debts, they can simply tap into your account and use the money to pay your unpaid charges.  For this reason, the value of your security deposit would also determine your credit limit.  Obviously, the higher the amount of your deposit is, the higher your credit limit would be.

In this case, submitting a smaller security deposit in your account can put a limit on your credit card use.  If you need to make large purchases, you may not be able to do so because of a low credit limit.  On the other hand, this drawback can also be an advantage since it can protect your business from the risk of extremely large debts.

On the other hand, an unsecured credit card does not require any security deposit.  However, because of the greater risk involved, credit card companies charge higher interest rates and penalty charges on these business credit cards.  Still, some business owners prefer this type of account because it gives them more flexibility with the use of their credit.

Which One Is Best For My Business?

Clearly, bad credit business credit cards have their pros and cons.  Making the right choice would depend on the financial needs and spending style of your business.  Whichever you choose however, the important thing to remember is your obligation to pay.  Bear in mind that failing to keep up with your payments would only bring more damage to your credit history.

On the contrary, the wise use of your business credit card and the timely submission of your payment are the key to improving your poor credit.  Lastly, don’t forget to check if your preferred business credit card reports your payments to the credit bureaus since it is the only way to repair bad credit.  After a few months or a year of consistent payments, ask your credit card issuer to upgrade your account to a standard business credit card that doesn’t require a security deposit and with lower rates and charges.

How Do I Know The Difference Between Good And Bad Loans?

The media continues to talk about mortgage and credit card defaults. Many homeowners have been scrambling to save their homes from foreclosure. With all of this going on, we might begin to wonder whether there really is such a thing as a good loan.

Using credit is not always a bad thing. We just need to understand when it is appropriate. Loans make sense when they help us increase what we already have. For example, we can use a credit card for everyday purchases if we are buying things that are within our budget and if we are able to pay the entire balance off when the monthly bill arrives.

Using the credit card can do two things. First, it allows us to put our cash to work earning some interest while we borrow the credit card’s money for free. Second, many credit cards offer cash back bonuses, flyer miles, or other perks. There is nothing wrong with accumulating these perks if it doesn’t cost us in the process.

Another example of a good loan can be a mortgage or a home equity loan. We need to be careful here, though. We should only borrow when it is going to increase what we already have.

For example, we can pull cash out to purchase more property. Real estate can be a great investment. We can use the equity in our current home to buy a rental property that can essentially pay for itself. If time permits, we can also invest in fixers. These properties may just need a little work to greatly improve their market value.

Be careful

However, please be cautious. Only a very few properties make good investments. There are diamonds in the rough out there. It is not as easy as those workshops make it look. It requires research and doing a lot of homework to find the right properties that will build our wealth.

We should only borrow money against our properties if we know that we are able to put it into an investment that is guaranteed to earn more for us than the cost of the loan. Do not gamble with your home. Make sure the numbers are solid.

Bad loans

Any other reason for borrowing money would make it a bad loan. We should never use credit cards as a way to get things that we cannot afford. Instant gratification may feel good now, but the interest proves that it is not the best decision in the long run.

We should not use debt consolidation programs, home equity loans, or refinancing to pay off our credit cards so that we can run them up again. We also should not borrow against the home to remodel or buy new furniture. These large purchases should be planned in advance, and we should be saving toward these goals each month until we can afford them. That might mean doing one room at a time, but the cost will be significantly less than if we borrow money to do it.

Car loans and leases should also be avoided, if possible. Borrowing to purchase a depreciating asset is not a wise investment decision.

The loan that we need to be extremely careful with is the loan from a friend or family member. It is always best not to borrow from them. Misunderstandings and miscommunication about money can cause the relationship to fall apart. It can also damage relationships with other friends or family members who find themselves caught in the middle. If it does become a last resort, it is always best to put the terms of the agreement in writing just to make sure that everyone is on the same page.

The Difference Between Government Grants and Loans

There is a substantial difference between government grants and government loan programs. One glaring point is that grants are essentially free money from the government while loans will require a time of repayment. There are far more nuisances between the two, however.

Government Grants

Firstly, it’s important to note that billions of tax dollars are generated from small businesses every year. Naturally the United States government wants to do everything it can to encourage new business startups. It also wants already established businesses to succeed.

Government grants are readily available if you know what you’re looking for and can meet the specific criteria laid out by the various government agencies. There is not a standard small business grant available from the government in the same way as there is a loan, but there are millions of dollars available in government grants that can be applied for and earned by small business owners.

The government works to consolidate these loans on their various websites, but the sheer number of grants made available on a daily basis makes it impossible to check for updates and relevant material without assistance. With the help of specialized search software, you can find all available grants that meet your individual criteria in a single setting rather than spending hours drilling down into the agencies in search of grant programs.

Once you find applicable grants for your business offerings and employees, you’ll need to apply for the grant by writing a grant proposal. When applying for a grant, your current income is not usually considered nor is your credit. This means that those with poor credit are far better off seeking government grants than loans. This is especially true if repayment of loans has been a problem in the past. Unlike government loans, government grants don’t need to be repaid so long as the criteria are set.

Government Loans

Government loans, on the other hand, are similar to a typical loan program. The government doesn’t loan money directly to the small business owner. Instead, the government backs loans made by commercial banks to small business owners. These are called SBA loans and are very common.

The SBA loan gives small business owners a chance to start or grow their business with low interest rates and support from the government through the loan process and repayment period. To obtain the loan, however, you’ll be expected to complete a substantial amount of paperwork and submit to a underwriting of your personal and business accounts.

Once your determination and ability to pay has been documented, you’ll be released the sum of money and you’ll finally have the money you need and favorable terms for repayments. The government loan does require a repayment plan spread over many months, but there are far fewer restrictions on the use of the money under a government loan program than there are under the government grant program.

What is SAS 70 Certified and What is the Difference Between Type I and Type II?

SAS 70 stands for Statement on Auditing Standards No. 70. It is an auditing standard that was adopted by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and is widely recognized in the auditing of service organizations. An auditor performs an audit on a service organization and that audit is conducted in a way that is compliant with SAS 70. It is that standard statement that says a service organization has been through an extensive audit

This extensive audit measures is that the organization has total control and has safeguards in place that does not compromise any data that they process for their customers. In other words, the job of the audit is to evaluate every aspect of the service organization that handles customer data or could result in a possible leak of customer data.

SAS 70 is necessary for the following reasons:

- It serves as a guide to service organizations when disclosing to their customers how it is they protect their information and how well they do it. The audit results are organized in a report that is easy to follow.

- It is not a checklist audit, but serves as a guide to independent auditors to form an opinion on how well the organization is utilizing their internal controls. There are certain standards that must be met during the audit.

- Provides a set of standards in which the auditor can perform a financial statement audit.

All of the information that is gathered is compiled into two types of reports. These reports are called Type I and Type II.

Type I report

A type I report takes the organizations description of their own controls at a certain point in time and describes those descriptions. The report includes the report by the independent auditor, which is simply the auditor’s opinion, and it includes the organization’s descriptions of their internal controls. There are parts of the report that are optional such as tests that are performed by the auditor and the auditor recording the results of those tests. Another optional area is the inclusion of any other information that the organization provides the auditor about its controls.

Type II report

The type II report is similar to the type I report in a lot of ways. The main difference is that it is mandatory for the auditor to perform tests and record the results of those tests. This is optional with type I. All of the other areas of evaluation remain the same and the inclusion of additional data by the organization is still optional.

How the organization benefits

The organization benefits from SAS 70 because it is receiving an unbiased opinion from the outside regarding the security and the effectiveness of its financial and customer-related controls. In turn, the organization can then work on any areas of weakness, which means that the customers can feel more secure about who they are doing business with. This builds a trust with customers when they know that their financial and/or personal information with the organization are secure. It lets them know who they can turn to when they need what the service organization has to offer.

Also, a service organization that has regular audits performed is an organization that has a long business life ahead of it. As stated before, customers will turn to a secure organization to do business. That means the organization is ensuring itself a long life as long as regular audits are performed to ensure the security of their internal controls. Keeping up with their controls can also save them money from having to eventually bring their controls up-to-date.

The Connection Between Leverage And Hard Money By Hard Money Loans Arizona

Welcome to Real Estate Investing Today brought to you by hard money loans arizona. My name is Ryan Wright and thanks for joining me. Today I want to talk to you about the principle of leverage and hard money.

Leverage and hard money, basically the use of hard money is all about leverage. People that want to use hard money want to leverage their time, their resources so they can accomplish more. Frankly the whole principle of loans and obtaining loans is all about leveraging you and if used appropriately can be extremely successful and if used inappropriately is going to determine serious failure. There is saying that says that I can leave any thing if I have a lever long enough.

Basically when it comes down to it, if you are talking about a wrench or you are talking about a lever sorts or whatever the case may be, if there is enough leverage on it it is really easy to turn that very very tight screw if you have got a handle that is long enough so it does not have to take a whole lot of effort on you part utilizing the force of leverage, which is exactly what the use of hard money is all about utilizing leverage from your resources.

We have a client I want to talk to you about who has enough money that he can pay cash or properties. But the problem is that they only have cash pay for one property. So they have a decision to make. Do I want to fix and flip one or two properties a year or do I want to split up those resources, use a hard money lender and be able to do more properties at a given time. And they frankly are using their money as money for rehabs, using money for down payments or any differences what hard money company is able to lend and what they are wanting or what their purchase price is so utilizing the resources they have combine with resources of other people and they are able to obtain great leverage, which allows them to fix and flip more properties about three times what they are able to do and they are able to gain an extreme advantage over any body else being able to do that many properties and the income that is generated is much more substantial because of their use of leverage.

So many sophisticated real estate investors talk about OPM, other people’s money basically how to use other people’s money to make success and that is one of the things that I like about arizona hard money loans. They offer 100% financing for buying the property at a level that they can lend. Now lots of times it turns out that they are only able to lend for example $70,000 and may you are buying the property for $80,000, which means you have to come up with $10,000. If a choice is here you can say no I am not just going to do deal altogether or you can say I will put the $10,000 down, utilize some one else’s money, OPM, other people money for the $70,000 so I utilize my own money for the $10,000 in the cost of my rehab and then I can move forward and successful transaction utilizing some body else’s money and that enables you to do another property as well. So with very limited or in sometimes no resources available you are able to utilize leverage and the principle of other people’s money so that you can obtain financing.

We have clients that do this on a frequent basis. They are very successful. Even clients have enough money to pay cash for properties they will utilize our funds because mainly they want their funds for a cash auction as have cash in 24 hours, which obviously Do Hard Money cannot facilitate cash flows in 24 hours and so it is good to have cash available and that is why they utilize Hard Money Loans Arizona’s money when they are doing things so they can have open resources, they can have other possibilities, they can make them successful.
