Much Needed Scholarship programs for Mothers: An Oasis in an Atmosphere of Economic Uncertainty

Attention to all mothers out there! Watch out for this great opportunity. For all single mothers, working moms and other kinds of mothers who had to stopped college before will now have a great chance to be eligible for President Obama’s Scholarship for Mothers Program, to finish a college degree. This will give a chance for all sorts of mother the golden opportunity to have a college degree, or finish one that they had already begun but never had the chance to finish.

Obama’s Scholarship for Mothers program was announced as part of the stimulus program. This is available to American residents, eighteen years of age and above. It gives out scholarship grants of $10,000 on an annual basis, which shall extend of up to four years to individuals. This financial assistance is meant to pay tuition, computer costs, books, and other day to day expenses.

One of the reasons why a lot of single mothers do not have the chance to go back to school and finish a degree is that they are preoccupied with a lot of things. Of course, they have to discharge their roles first as mother to their children, which consumes a lot of effort and time. In addition, a lot of these single mothers do not have additional cash to get a babysitter to take care of the children. This makes it so hard for these mothers to make the choice to go back to school.

The financial assistance given out by the American Opportunity Tax Credit can assist the applicants in deciding of going back to school, especially for mothers who belong in a lower income bracket.
