Obama Grants For Moms Returning To School – The Real Score About Grants For Moms Returning To School

Are Obama school grants real or just another wife’s tale? Some people claimed that no new grants for Moms were provided by the Obama government, and that his speech encouraging all Americans, including Moms, to rally behind education was nothing but a publicity stunt, a hollow promise; more loose talk.

Definitely, not Obama.

Obama gave lots of emphasis on the importance of education as a means by which everyone gets his fair chance to improve his situation in life. Nobody comes closer to the echelon of self-made men whose station in life has been dramatically altered by education (and perhaps a dash of good luck) than Obama himself. When he made his speech, it was definitely a sincere invitation for Moms to rise up above their present chores and accomplish a feat bigger than just baking cookies and changing diapers.

But regardless how honest intentions are, some people just have a knack for creating gossip.

Obama’s Stance towards Education

Pell grants under the Obama administration have received an increase to be at par with rising commodities and stand toe to toe with recession. These may be the same grants students have availed through the years, regardless of who was seated at the White House, but to maintain these grants under more pressing economic circumstances is a feat in itself.

Against all odds, those who want to go back to school and complete their education will have options available to them. School loans and other grants will become available as they have always been in the past.

The Real Score

So, what’s the real score about Obama Grants for Moms returning to school?

There may be no specific grants for moms, but there is an assurance of support for what is already there in government and other student loan providers to ensure many young men and women, including Moms and Dads, who wish to take on Obama’s challenge, to pursue their education and finish it, will have the means to get by.

Whether the Obama Grants for Moms Returning to School is a newly, established project or not, moms who are interested to go back to college should still strive to apply for any government-sponsored or private scholarship made especially for them since the government has become more stable in its support for all financial aides for students of all ages and statuses.

Getting money for college is actually easy!

There are literally hundreds of amazing scholarship and grant programs available that are like getting Free Money!

I’ve put together a nice list of these Scholarships and Grants for you. Save yourself the headache of trying to do it all yourself and let people who have been in your shoes already help you out!

Poor Credit Score? Find The Best Bad Credit Card

Having a poor credit rating can seriously limit your choices of credit cards. Most credit card companies are likely to turn down your applications, making things tough for you at a time when you most need a credit card. Fortunately though, that’s not the end of it as you have another option of bad credit cards. Naturally, this is a temporary solution until you can get back on your feet. Bad credit cards can also be used to help you improve your credit score, as long as you pay your credit card bills on time, that is. The only drawback to this would obviously be the higher than usual APR interests.

Nevertheless, if you are willing to provide collateral to the credit card company, you may qualify for a secured bad credit card with a lower APR. This way, you can still earn interests on your collateral, and simultaneously enjoy good rates. The downside is, you may be charged other fees such as annual fees or start up fees.

Before you apply for a bad credit card, it is prudent to do your homework first. As bad credit cards are usually offered to those with poor credit ratings, the APR would unlikely be low. Thus, comparing the various offers of bad credit cards out there would be a wise move.

One of the primary factors of consideration includes the upfront fees that credit card companies would charge you. In order to make a wise evaluation, it’s best that you have a plan to pay off your debt before your interests snowball. Other factors that you can use to help you make a better decision would be to analyze the reward programs that your bad credit card can offer. If you are entitled for retail discounts at specific retail stores when you charge to your bad credit card, this would be even more enticing.

With all these factors to consider, it is clear that you should look around before you apply for a bad credit card. Compare and contrast the various fees and rates of the candidate companies. Only after careful consideration should you take the next move and submit your application.

Adam Goldman recommends Find Credit Cards for finding the best bad credit card. See http://www.findcreditcards.org/type/bad-credit.php for more information.

Motor Sports: Drivers ready for this week’s this week’s SCORE Laughlin Desert Race

All-American racer Rob MacCachren will attempt to give his home State friends something else to salute him for this weekend at the 10th Annual SCORE Laughlin Desert Challenge.

MacCachren, of Las Vegas, along with Tom Ridings, Long Beach, Calif., will both attempt to win three classes in the popular event held along the banks of the Colorado River in Laughlin, Nev., 90 miles southeast of Las Vegas.

The first major motorsport event of the year will be held Thursday through Sunday, launching the five-race 2004 SCORE Desert Series, the world’s foremost desert racing series.

MacCachren, 38, a seven-time SCORE class point champion 2001 All-America motorsports team member, will drive Saturday for Mexico’s Gus Vildosola in the featured SCORE Trophy-Truck division and will drive solo in both Class 1-2/1600 and SCORE Lite. Ridings, 49, who has several SCORE class race wins, will drive Sunday in the unlimited Class 1 for Brian Parkhouse, Bell Gardens, Calif., and, like MacCachren, will drive solo in two other classes, Class 10 and SCORE Lite.

With 173 total vehicles entered to date from 12 States, Japan and Mexico, Las Vegas’ Ed and Tim Herbst drew the pole position in the featured SCORE Trophy-Truck division. Younger brother Troy Herbst received the top spot in the unlimited Class 1 in the computerized drawing for start positions.

“I’m a professional racer, this is what I do, so I couldn’t pass up this opportunity as the pieces came together to make it work,” said MacCachren, who has won Class season titles in SCORE Trophy-Truck as well as Classes 8 (2), 10, 7S (2) and 1-2/1600. “My top priority is SCORE Trophy-Truck, but with Bruce Fraley running the show, I have a great team put together for the other two classes. The SCORE Laughlin Desert Challenge is really a fun race, and unlike the other long-distance races we do in the series, doesn’t take as much out of you. And, like I said before, I’m a professional racer and racers just can’t pass up opportunities like this one.”

In SCORE Trophy-Truck, MacCachren, who has two class wins in Laughlin, will drive in the No. 4 Vildosola Racing Ford F-150. He will also attempt an unprecedented double in his other two classes, using the same Fraley chassis with different air-cooled VW motors and transmissions in Class 1-2/1600 and SCORE Lite.

In SCORE Lite, he will race with more horsepower in a vehicle that will be up to 400 pounds less than his competitors. He will sacrifice size, suspension and braking in running his Class 1-2/1600 car in SCORE Lite.

Ridings, who finished second in the 2002 SCORE Lite season points, will drive a new Jimco-Chevy in Class 1. He will race his newly-purchased Jimco-Toyota in Class 10 and his reliable Mirage-VW in SCORE Lite.

Among the early entries are most of SCORE’s top racers, including some who are switching classes along with a growing group of newcomers who will give SCORE one of its largest ever groups of rookies. As SCORE begins is fourth decade as the world’s oldest and most prominent desert racing organization, several drivers have entered more than one class.

NASCAR Winston Cup regular Robby Gordon, whose racing roots are in the desert, is slipping away from his Daytona 500 testing for Richard Childress Racing to race in the marquee SCORE Trophy-Truck class in the No. 31 Chevy CK1500 he built in his own Team Gordon Racing shop in Southern California. Gordon drew the 21st starting spot out of 23 entries in SCORE Trophy-Truck. Also entered is ESPN sportscaster Cameron Steele, San Clemente, Calif., who won Class 1-2/1600 in November’s SCORE Baja 1000.

San Diego’s McMillin Racing will field the first three-generation race team ever in a U.S. race. Driving three separate vehicles in Class 1 will be family patriarch Corky, 75, his son Mark, 47, and grandson Andy, 16.

Since its debut in 1995, the SCORE Laughlin Desert Challenge has helped establish Laughlin as a viable host for special events. Thousands of spectators will join over 170 racers and their crews converging on the city to watch the best of the best desert racers compete in a unique-format, two-day race that includes a temporary stadium surrounding the start/finish line area and the main pits.

A total of 16 different classes for cars and trucks are split into seven groups in Laughlin, each running as part of one of seven races of two to four laps each over the much-abbreviated 11-mile loop each day. Racing action runs from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day.

Besides reigning SCORE Overall, Class 1 and Laughlin champion Dale Ebberts, Canyon Lake, Calif. and the Herbst brothers, at the top of the early entry list are George Seeley, Rob MacCachren and Brian Collins.

With two vehicles starting side-by-side every 30 seconds in the elapsed-time race, starting alongside of Ed Herbst in SCORE Trophy-Truck in the No. 5 Ford F-150 of Marty Coyne, El Centro, Calif.

Starting on the outside of row 1 in Class 1 next to Troy Herbst will be the Porter-Ford of casino CEO Bobby Baldwin of Las Vegas.

Daily general admission tickets, good for grandstand seating, are $15 for each Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, children five and under are free. Daily VIP tickets are $35 each for three days, good for admission to the Laughlin Hospitality Chalet, including food beverage and special seating. The stadium seating area will include the immensely popular SCOREvision large-screen LED display that debuted last year, showing live footage from various locations around the race course.

Tickets will also be available for the three other designated spectator areas around the course.

At a cost of $10 per vehicle, there are two areas off of Nevada State Highway 163 adjacent to the racecourse as well as the popular “SCORE Hill,” which overlooks the infield, start/finish area and the main pits. Admission to these areas is on a first-come, first-served basis and no camping is permitted. These areas will have limited refreshment and public safety services.

Tickets for the Laughlin Events Park are now on sale at 800.227.5245.

One of the event’s most popular features, the Laughlin Leap, revs up the fun and gets the weekend off to a roaring start at 6 p.m. Thursday. Drivers and pit crews will share the spotlight at the Laughlin Events Park, competing for a $16,000 purse and the honor of being the 2004 champion. The Laughlin Leap, a dirt ramp built into the middle of the arena, challenges the most daring of drivers, and the top car or truck traditionally goes airborne for more than 120 feet.

Friday at 4:30 p.m. at the Laughlin Events Park, the Pit Crew Showdown focuses attention on the entire racing team to compete for a $10,000 purse.

Drivers and pit crews will compete for more than $300,000 in prize money and contingency postings during the four day SCORE Laughlin Desert Challenge.

SCORE points are determined both by finishing order and number of starters in each class. So far for the SCORE Laughlin Desert Challenge, classes with the most entries were Class 1 with 32, Class 1-2/1600 with 31, Class 10 and SCORE Trophy-Truck with 23 each.

Late entries, receiving the next available starting position in each class, will be accepted up until race morning.

The 10th annual SCORE Laughlin Desert Challenge is sponsored by the Laughlin Tourism Committee, the Laughlin Visitors Bureau, the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority in association with Las Vegas Events. The race is sanctioned and produced by SCORE International of Los Angeles.

The upcoming 2004 race will be the first of a new three-year contract extension between Laughlin, the LVCVA, LVE and SCORE International, confirming the event’s significant economic and promotional impact.

SCORE International, founded in 1973 by the late Mickey Thompson and headed by Sal Fish since 1974, continues today as the premier sanctioning body in the sport of desert racing. SCORE races feature 16 Pro and two Sportsman classes for cars and trucks in the U.S. with seven additional Pro and three more Sportsman classes for motorcycles and ATVs competing in the races in Mexico.

Why Banks Want to Know Your Credit Score- Get Basic Info Here!

The basis why banks want to know your credit score is actually very simple. You may not know it, but those three digits in your credit score make a great impact to creditors for those numbers sums up your whole financial history. It also tells something about your own personal principles.

True, the best things in life are those that are unseen. However, we cannot refuse that we do have a materialistic nature as well. Most often we dream of owning a better car or perhaps a beautiful and a more comfortable home for our family. Yet, not each of us is equipped with the financial resources to enable us to automatically achieve them. This is where lending comes is.

It’s A Gamble

To be able to qualify for a loan, you will need a good credit report’. Have you heard about this statement from people? Do you have an idea what this denotes? What is it about your credit score? Why do banks want to know about your credit score when you undertake a loan?

Well you need not worry. There is nothing confusing about all of this. In fact the whole concept is very simple! Your credit score plays a very important role when banks contemplate on your loan approval. If they find out you have a good credit score, the chances of your loan approval may be high. However, seeing a low credit score will most likely turn their minds towards denial of your loan request.

When they grant your loan, banks do not just take some money out of their vault give it to you and place interest on it. Instead, they are also making some form of a gamble. The bet is on whether you can repay all the money plus the interest on the required time duration. The bank has won the gamble if you flawlessly met all payments. On the other hand, they have lost the bet if you became negligent of your bills and the bank had to settle the matter t court or pay a collection agency just to get their money back.

They Will Truly Dig Up Your Credit Score

It’s never an assurance if you realize that your creditor did not ask for your credit score. As what we have mentioned, it is the primary guide for decision making. Thus in one way or another, they will search it out.

So how or where do banks get your credit score? Well, credit bureaus are everywhere. By paying a certain amount, these companies will supply banks with the credit report they need.Whenever you ask for a loan, apply for a credit card or some other credit, banks need to take a look at your credit score so they can make a forecast on your payment outcomes. This is why for all your credits small and large, whether you used your credit card for airline travel or purchase large items, it is very important that you are able to pay all of these on time as this will appear on your credit history and thus affects credit score.

Once you decide on taking a loan, ensure that you already made a complete check of your of all your present financial status and all of your available assets. Can this cover all of your loan payments including the interest if for instance your life would unexpectedly experience an adverse turn of events such as unemployment or illness? If you answered positive to that question, then all you need now is a good credit score and you are ready.

If ever you fall short of your loan payments for a number of times, then you shouldn’t be surprised if you receive a low credit score. Once you see this, you may not want to apply for a credit for a while because your efforts may become useless. When creditors see your low credit score, they may not even take a second look at your loan application.
